It is very strange to believe that women could be physically abusive in marriage, to the extent of suppressing their husbands. We rarely hear about this clause “my wife beats me” because of men’s dominance in most relationships. Even in female led relationships (FLR), physical abuse by women is less often since there’s a clear and accepted formula for sharing responsibilities.
Unfortunately, the reality of today is that irrespective of their physical strength and dominance, most men are now victims of domestic violence. Their cases are often severe because of the stigmatization they’d face if they open up.
Here is a story of one of our readers who passed through the brunt of domestic violence.
My Wife Beats Me
The first time my wife hit me
I met my wife in the penultimate year of my undergraduate studies. Joan was very beautiful, elegant and blessed with a charming pair of eyes. Her legs are straight and spotless. If not that she’s allergic to public appearance, she’d be crowned the most pretty girl on campus on multiple occasions.

Initially, I didn’t have any interest in starting up any intimate affair with her because of her below average performance in academics. Yes. Her beauty was not extended to her academic works and she never cared much to turn things around. Maybe because of her family’s success in business, she already had a position reserved for her in the family’s business’ hierarchy.
We met a couple of times before openly declaring her interest to try things out with me. Her love for brilliant dudes couldn’t allow her to spare a relationship with me. We started meeting frequently at the school bar and that was the same place I received my first slap from Joan.
On that fateful day, we were sitting over a bottle of wine and some cookies when a young lady passed across. I dropped a gaze on the young lady and heard this deafening sound on my left cheek. It was thundering and flinching. I turned around and met a smiling Joan who dismissively notified me that the slap was just a warning.
I wanted to leave the bar immediately and call it quits with her but on a second thought I decided to talk things out with her, maybe I could figure out her boundaries.

She punched me multiple times on our wedding night
Our relationship progressed gradually with issues of abuse here and there. I later figured out that Joan was the jealous type and could easily get triggered by your “hello” to another girl. The relationship worked out to nuptials because I showered her with attention, care and love.
Immediately after our project, I proposed to her and we started the wedding preparations. It was a stressful process of making numerous calls, sending mails and invites. We just wanted a blissful wedding experience but that never happened because of the ugly experience that ended the day.

It can only take a robot to pass through the stress of welcoming, smiling and shaking over 200 guests without getting exhausted at the end of day. I expected Joan to figure this out but she insisted we must start the process of making babies on that same night.
The foreplay wasn’t much and within minutes, I was on top of her in a missionary style trying my best to make consistent and powerful thrusts. She was obviously dissatisfied with my attempts from the glare on her face.
She probably couldn’t take it anymore and pushed me forcefully with a series of kicks and punches while repeatedly reminding me of how disappointed she was to end her wedding night in a miserable way.

My wife continued with the abuse and brawls
With the uninteresting end of our wedding night, the rest of our honeymoon was boring and lonely until we returned to our residence.
After a few weeks of settling down, my wife reinvented her tantrums, nagging, temper and brawls. We hardly spend a day without going through arguments, fights and making up. It was an emotionally challenging moment.

One evening, I received a text from a female colleague wishing me happy birthday. This particular text infuriated my wife seriously and she threatened to smash my phone if I don’t explain why I’ve been cheating on her. I was dumbfounded. I didn’t know how she made up her story and leveled such accusations against me.
Reaching out to her family was difficult because of her influence. When she noticed I was making plans to leave, she threatened to contact her father to arrange some mobs against me. Everything about the marriage was very disturbing for me and my peace of mind.
How I left my abusive wife
I had no other option but to endure her kicks, slaps and brawls while quietly working on a transfer. Eventually, I was transferred to the outskirts of another state. After my resumption at my new workplace, I headed straight to my new home.
